Our Vision

It's simple: We want to submit new ideas to the Mormon world that are of sufficient quality and uniqueness so as to be a service to the community. Ultimately, we hope that The Mormon Anomaly will aid in the establishment of Zion, however modestly, by opening, enlightening, and pruning the mind and faith of all who read or write here. We want hearts and actions changed for the better. In this quest, we pray that reader and writer alike may come to know our Father in Heaven, His Son Jesus Christ, ourselves and each other ever more.

The style, subject, and approach of the writing here will diversify as more people contribute, but I think it is safe to say that our unity of belief will remain: faith needn't be in conflict with examination, analysis, and honest question.

All writing published at TMA falls under one of three categories:

  • Analyses - Researched, referenced, and thorough. An analysis must have at least 3 reliable and documented sources. It is not necessarily required to argue a point. New information, collections of information, or ideas are the aim.

  • Essays - No documented sources are required, only a well-formulated piece of writing of an analytic, argumentative, or interpretative nature.

  • Posts - Anything that does not fall under the analysis or essay categories. These are often praiseworthy ideas we have found that do not originate with us, but are certainly worth sharing. These may be very short and can be anything from a question to spark discussion, a cool video, or a thought-provoking speech.
